Putting upskirt photos on the front page, with the Daily Star

On 29 May, Richard Desmond's Daily Star Sunday took a stand against a 'sick' German newspaper that had published upskirt shots of Pippa Middleton:

'Pippa pervs' the front page roared as it criticised an:

undie-Hans attack by a kinky German snapper.

And here's Saturday's Daily Star front page:

  1. Sounds like they were just jealous that the German reporter got to Pippa's photo op first. Tabloid newspapers are all the same though when it comes to trying to pap famous women - they love to either flaunt how "hot" they are or how much they've let themselves go. Not much better than celebrity magazines, except the tabloids usually are allowed to have topless women past the front page.

  2. I would have put money on the fact that the Star would be the first rag to post pictures of Kate's arse. The others have been too busy fawning over her and faking respect to stoop so low.

My only worry about the NOTW being put to sleep is that readers of that shitty rag will now migrate to the even shittier Star and increase it's readership and profits. I can't see them upgrading to a proper newspaper and I think that Sunday Sun, while almost certainly on the way, will take a while to kick off with people knowing it's taking the place of the NOTW. Anything that increases the spread of a far more dangerous paper (at least the NOTW didn't support the EDL and practically promote BNP idealogy).

  3. ""...(at least the NOTW didn't support the EDL and practically promote BNP idealogy)""

Well, neither did the Daily Star Sunday (it was the Daily Star). I know they're both Desmond rags, with broadly similar outlooks and audiences - but the Daily and the Sunday ARE different papers, with different staff. And so the contradiction here (Piipa Pervs vs. Kate's arse) isn't quite as bad as it appears.

  4. ptb1971 - But did yesterday's Daily Star Sunday call the Daily Star sick pervs for publishing that photo?
